Overview
Candidates attending this course will have access to tier one knowledge in the field of Software asset management (SAM); as the content was written and design by our Course Director, Steven Davison. Steven is a leading SAM expert with over 12 years experience in SAM. He currently sits on the British Computing Society’s SAM Working Group for both SAM Foundation & Practitioner levels and also holds a place on the UK ISO19770-1 Working Group. Steven was the first Tutor to train the ITIL SAM Essentials course over two years ago.
The course is spread over three days and covers the subject of software asset management (SAM) within the boundaries of ITIL. At the end of the third day candidates are able to sit a 1 hour exam that comprises of 40 multiple choice questions.
This course is a Foundation level course that acts as a prerequisite for candidates wishing to attend the more advanced Practioner level SAM course.

Software asset management spans through the new v.3 ITIL Infrastructure setting in real detail and as such there are many areas of IT that require good SAM knowledge.
Requirements
Candidates with a reasonable knowledge of software asset management can attend this Foundation level course. This course does not require you to hold previous certifications, although any introduction into ITIL as a framework would be helpful.
